Nice work! I've been wanting to do something like this, but with a bobcat. Only problem is I need a very small drill bit I haven't been able to find.

Thank you! I ended up buying a Dremel just for drilling claws and teeth. They're fairly reasonable in price and come with really tiny drill bits. They also operate at several different speeds, which is excellent for teeth since they tend to burn or crack if you're not careful. Of course, you probably already know all this since I see some lovely work in your own gallery! :)

Gorgeous headdress, by the way!

You're welcome! Thanks for the info, I'll check that out next time I'm in town. And thanks, coming from such an awesome artist, it means a lot!

Hehe thanks, can you believe they were just going to dump the body?

Aw, thank you! I always find it hard to believe that people just throw away roadkill and other critters with perfectly usable parts. I just finished cleaning a domestic cat skeleton that sat on the side of the road for a month or two. Seemed like such a waste, so I took it home!

Yeah, I found a young doe and a bobcat that had been hit not far from my house earlier this month. Can't wait to get to work on 'em

Cut and paste mishap on my part. I posted in a hurry and copied the usual description from other jewellery since most of what I use is from roadkill and such. However, now that I think of it, the same applies there so I will edit all of my descriptions appropriately as soon as I get a few minutes to spare. Thanks for the tip.

Can bone be shipped out of the United States to Australia...? :P

It would be shipped from Canada and I have shipped bone jewellery to Australia before, but I'm not sure on the legalities of importing animal parts into the country. I think Oz has some pretty strict rules and I don't know where to find them. It would have to be at your own risk in case customs decided to seize it. I wish I could offer more information!

Okay thanks, I'll have a dig around the customs site and see what I can find :)

(I'm sorry to raise your hopes, but right now I don't have the money to buy this wonderful piece of jewellery :'(

Let me know what you find out! I'm curious myself since I think Australia has some pretty strict import laws on animal parts.

No need to apologise! If you want something similar in the future, I can always make another one or even a bracelet or something simpler that is a lower price.
